When Merck & Co. needed a utility tunnel, plus a total utility relocation in six months, start-to-finish, Bencardino worked with Bovis Lend Lease to get the work done.

The job required excavation of 50,000 yards of dirt and 25,000 yards of rock, as well as substantial shoring to build a tunnel that was 25-feet deep and 40-feet wide.

The biggest challenge for Bencardino was to keep the utilities in service the entire time. Not only were all utilities maintained and uninterrupted during the process, but Bencardino also finished the job ahead of schedule.
